On 9 October, VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intel Corporation. The agreement aims to integrate content from the AI for Future Workforce Programme into the curriculum of several academic disciplines. This accord represents a significant step forward in the strategy of enhancing digital capabilities and providing students with Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to global business standards.
Pursuant to the signed content, course modules incorporating the AI for Future Workforce Programme shall furnish students with a highly applicable system of AI knowledge and skills, thus meeting the practical demands of the industry. Students completing the module will receive a co-branded certificate, jointly issued by HCMUS and Intel Corporation. This certification shall demonstrate AI competency in line with international standards and enhance a student’s competitive advantage in the labour market.
The Intel AI for Future Workforce Programme is currently being deployed across numerous countries. Content includes modules ranging from foundational AI knowledge, practical skills, and specialisation-based project development to the simulation of business problems. A flexible structure enables students from various disciplines to access the Programme, including those without prior programming experience. The objective is to cultivate a young workforce prepared to apply AI amidst the rapid growth of the digital economy.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training collaborated with Intel to organise training courses for the AI for Future Workforce Programme for university lecturers in Ha Noi (July 2024) and Ho Chi Minh City (January 2025) in Viet Nam. These activities constitute the initial implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on digital transformation in education, signed between the Ministry and Intel in September 2023. The training courses contribute to professional capacity building and support universities in systematically integrating AI content into curricula. HCMUS is one of the pioneering institutions continuing this transition.
Collaboration with Intel provides access to international-standard pedagogical resources, modern learning materials, and a proven AI training model. This establishes a crucial foundation for HCMUS to enhance the quality of education, broaden career opportunities for students, and simultaneously strengthen the competitive position of Viet Nam’s human resources in high-tech industries.
The agreement also affirms VNUHCM-University of Science’s commitment to developing high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of digital transformation and the steadily increasing demand for AI professionals in Viet Nam and across the globe.
