CONGRATULATIONS TO THE THEMES AWARDED AT THE 1ST YOUNG SCIENCE CONFERENCE 2024 OF VNUHCM-UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE

The 1st Young Science Conference of the VNUHCM-University of Science, held in 2024, aimed to create opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students to exchange, learn, and share experiences.

The conference received over 100 reports from young scientists, with 26 summary reports being presented across three subcommittees. Additionally, the conference featured three overview reports on Mathematics – Information Technology, Natural Sciences and Engineering, and Engineering and Technology.

The event was successfully conducted, and in recognition of the enthusiastic participation and the quality of the topics presented, the Council of the subcommittees selected outstanding topics that received awards.

The following awards were presented:

  1. Best Oral Subcommittee Reports:

– Mathematics – Information Technology Subcommittee:

+ Topic: “Improving Bird Sounds Classification with Additional Fine-tuning on Augmented Data” by Duy-Khang Ho, Huy-Hoang Do-Huu, Minh-Phuong Le-Thi, and Xuan-Nam Cao.

+ Topic: “Budget-Aware Road Semantic Segmentation in Unseen Foggy Scenes” by Tan – Hiep To, Thanh – Nghi Do, Duc – Nghia Ngo, Minh – Triet Tran, and Trung – Nghia Le.

– Natural Sciences Subcommittee (including Biology – Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Environment):

+ Topic: “Discovering the Diversity of Con Dao Marine Fish Based on DNA Barcodes” by Phạm Mạnh Hùng, Hoàng Đức Huy, Jacques Panfili, and Jean-Dominique Durand.

+ Topic: “A Computational Approach to Lantern Organic Framework Nanomaterials” by Lam H. Nguyen and Thanh N. Truong.

– Engineering and Technology Subcommittee (including Physics, Electronics – Telecommunications, Materials Science and Technology):

+ Topic: “Evaluation of Material Properties and Electrochemical Performance of Fe3O4@ZIF-8 Anode Electrode for Lithium-Ion Batteries” by Đỗ Thảo Anh, Nguyễn Bảo Trân, Lê Thanh Tam, Lê Hồng Thọ, Nguyễn La Ngọc Trân, Đoàn Lê Hoàng Tân, Nguyễn Tuấn Lợi, and Trần Thị Như Hoa.
