On 25th November, a meeting took place at the Nguyen Van Cu campus of the VNUHCM-University of Science with representatives from Chonnam National University, one of the leading universities in South Korea. The South Korean delegation was led by Dr. Sung Taek Jung, the President of Chonnam National University, and included members from various external relations departments and offices within the university.
From the University of Science, Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, the President, was present, along with leaders from various offices and faculties, as well as lecturers from the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences, the Faculty of Environment, and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology.
The main objective of the meeting was to discuss potential collaborative activities to enhance educational quality, promote research, and develop technology between the two institutions. Through this event, both parties express their desire to expand international cooperation, which will contribute to the enhancement of each university’s status and competitiveness on the global stage.
Chonnam National University is well regarded for outstanding research programmes and significant contributions to fields such as science, technology, and the humanities. The university has consistently prioritised the establishment of international collaborative networks, facilitating opportunities for students and lecturers of both the university and its partners to exchange knowledge and transfer technology. Meanwhile, the University of Science has also focused on expanding collaborations with universities and international educational organisations to further improve training and research quality.
The discussions between both parties revolved around potential collaboration opportunities, conducted in an open and friendly atmosphere, all directed towards the shared goal of establishing a long-term, sustainable, and effective partnership.
It is hoped that this partnership will lead to numerous developmental opportunities for both lecturers and learners from the two universities in the future.
