On 10 July, the Faculty of Chemistry at VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) held a graduation ceremony for students enrolled in the Viet Nam–France double degree programme in Chemistry, a joint education initiative between HCMUS and Le Mans University (France).
The event also marked a successful chapter in the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions in cultivating high-quality human resources for society.
Present at the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết – Vice President of HCMUS; Ms. Nguyễn Thu Hương – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry; programme coordinators including Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Thị Kiều Xuân, Assoc. Prof. Lê Tiến Khoa; and Prof. Brigitte Boulard from Le Mans University (France). Dr. Nguyễn Tấn Đại, representing the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), also joined the occasion to offer congratulations to the new graduates. Although unable to attend in person, Prof. Jean-François Pilard from Le Mans University conveyed his greetings through a recorded video message from France.

The ceremony welcomed 26 new graduates in Chemistry, joined by their families and friends—those who had offered steadfast support and encouragement throughout the years of study.
As part of the formal proceedings, Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết presented a congratulatory award to Nguyễn Hoàng Dung, who achieved the highest distinction in this year’s Viet Nam–France double degree cohort. The recognition honoured her academic excellence and determination during the course of study at HCMUS.

Addressing the graduates, the Faculty of Chemistry extended warm congratulations and conveyed strong confidence in the graduates’ potential. With a solid academic foundation, the graduates are expected to continue pursuing their scientific aspirations and contributing meaningfully to the national and international communities. “The journey ahead presents both opportunities and challenges. Maintain confidence in your abilities and in the academic foundation you now possess,” the Faculty representative emphasised.

The Viet Nam–France double degree programme remains one of the key examples of international cooperation at HCMUS, contributing to the training of high-calibre personnel in the fundamental sciences, particularly Chemistry—responding to the demands of integration and sustainable development.
This graduation ceremony served as a meaningful milestone for the graduates, signifying the culmination of years of dedication and perseverance. With internationally recognised training and a robust knowledge base, the graduates are now well-positioned to embark on professional and academic endeavours, continuing to pursue excellence in science and research.
