On the morning of 14 November, the Biology – Biotechnology Subcommittee officially commenced at VNUHCM-University of Science. This event marked a significant occasion in the field of life sciences, bringing together numerous researchers, lecturers, students, and scholars from academic institutions both domestically and internationally.
During the plenary session, the representative of the organising committee emphasised the conference’s role in fostering research collaboration, sharing innovative results, and establishing an academic network in the fields of biology and biotechnology.
The plenary session showcased impressive presentations by leading experts from both Viet Nam and abroad, including Prof. Trần Linh Thước, Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thị Huệ, Prof. Đặng Thị Phương Thảo, and Prof. Liyen Chen from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. The presentations not only highlighted research achievements in the field of medicine but also opened new avenues for biotechnology in the contemporary era.
With a variety of plenary sessions, breakout sessions, and poster presentations, the programme provided a comprehensive overview of developments and achievements in biology and biotechnology. The Subcommittee featured 41 oral presentations and 35 poster presentations, offering an extensive picture of breakthrough research and potential collaborations in the life sciences.
This year’s Biology – Biotechnology Subcommittee conference served not only as a platform for academic exchange but also opened opportunities for research collaboration, contributing to the development of the biology and biotechnology sector in Viet Nam. The conference promised to yield practical contributions to addressing social and environmental issues while acting as an important bridge between domestic and international researchers.
From 11 November to 26 November, the University hosted a series of international conferences and workshops on a range of topics, including the International Conference on Engineering, Physics, and MEMS (11-12 November 2024), the 2024 Earth Science and Sustainable Development Workshop (11 November 2024), the International Conference on Advanced Circuits and Systems (11 November 2024), and the International Conference on New Trends in Sustainable Chemistry (18-19 November 2024). Additionally, a scientific workshop took place between Hallym University (South Korea) and VNUHCM-University of Science on 26 November 2024.
