ETSC 2024: ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE CHEMISTRY THROUGH GLOBAL COLLABORATION AND INNOVATION

On 18-19 November, the VNUHCM-University of Science successfully hosted the international scientific conference themed “Emerging Trends in Sustainable Chemistry” (ETSC 2024) at the Nguyen Van Cu campus.

The event provided a platform for scientists, educators, and learners from various countries to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and enhance collaborative networks in sustainable chemistry.

ETSC 2024 focused on the latest trends in sustainable chemistry, featuring six main topics: natural products and pharmaceuticals, organic synthesis and catalysis, polymer science and nanomaterials, applied physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and materials, and interdisciplinary approaches in analytical chemistry. These themes illustrated the diversity and multidisciplinary nature of modern chemical research, all geared towards fostering sustainable development across various scientific and technological fields.

The conference attracted a diverse group of researchers and specialists from prestigious universities and research institutions both nationally and internationally, which served not only as a venue for showcasing the most recent research findings but also as a platform that promoted opportunities for international scientific collaboration.

Participants had the chance to learn from leading experts, while presenting their research topics and receiving valuable feedback that further enhanced the quality of their work.

In light of the global challenges posed by environmental issues, sustainable chemistry emerged as a prominent area of research. Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Trung Nhân, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, stated, “ETSC 2024 is not merely a conference but serves as an invitation for the scientific community to collaborate in tackling urgent environmental and resource challenges through innovative and sustainable chemical solutions.”

Following two days of engaging discussions, ETSC 2024 not only imparted valuable insights but also established a framework for new directions, promoting international collaboration and underscoring the importance of interdisciplinary research in the pursuit of a sustainable future.
