INTRODUCTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS FROM THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, SOUTH KOREA

On the morning of 13th November, a meeting took place at the Nguyen Van Cu campus of VNUHCM-University of Science, involving representatives from VNUHCM and the College of Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU). The programme aimed to discuss scholarship opportunities and exchange programmes that SNU offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students from VNUHCM.

The delegation from the College of Engineering at SNU consisted of Prof. Wontae Hwang, Vice Dean of International Affairs, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Ms. Heesun Kim, Manager of the International Office; Prof. Van Thinh Nguyen, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering; and Ms. Minh Do Ngoc Luong, final year student from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Representatives from VNUHCM included Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President, VNUHCM-University of Science; Dr. Nguyễn Tuấn Nam, Head of the Office of External Relations, VNUHCM-University of Information Technology; Dr. Vũ Anh Quang, Vice Director of the External Relations Office, VNUHCM-University of Technology; Mrs. Trần Thị Phúc, Staff of the External Relations Office, VNUHCM-University of Technology; and Ms. Phạm Vĩnh An, Staff of the VNUHCM-Department of External Relations and Project Development.

Following the discussions, a presentation about SNU took place, providing detailed information about scholarships, study, and research opportunities at the university, along with career prospects for graduates in South Korea. The event facilitated attendees’ exploration of scholarship offerings from SNU, one of the leading universities in South Korea, which was ranked 27th globally in Engineering according to the QS 2025 ranking.

Additionally, participants had the opportunity to engage directly, ask questions, and listen to experts sharing their experiences regarding study and the approaches to securing scholarships from SNU.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students listened as professors shared their experiences.

It is hoped that this initial step has paved the way for many opportunities and future educational collaboration between VNUHCM and SNU.
