From September 16–20, a delegation from the Faculty of Chemistry, VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) attended an academic and cultural programme hosted by National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan, paving the way for strategic cooperation in training and scientific research.
During the working trip, the HCMUS delegation held an in-depth working session with NCHU’s Faculty of Chemistry, and also toured its state-of-the-art research facilities and laboratory systems. This experience provided the delegation with a comprehensive view of the academic environment at NCHU and formed the basis for both parties to discuss and identify priority areas for cooperation in the near future.
Following these discussions, the two universities agreed on several important directions for cooperation. First, both parties will explore the feasibility of establishing a joint Master’s Dual Degree Programme between NCHU and HCMUS, to enable students to access diverse international training environments. Second, the universities are committed to creating favourable opportunities for students to participate in short-term or long-term academic and research exchange programmes at the partner institution, thereby expanding their scholarly experience and global integration skills. Third, the parties unanimously agreed to intensify the implementation of joint research projects, targeting publication in prestigious international journals, thereby enhancing the quality and standing of their research outcomes.

The exchanges also contributed to strengthening cultural and academic ties, affirming the commitment of both universities to developing high-quality human resources and promoting scientific research relevant to global issues. This represents a significant step, laying a solid foundation for specific future projects, and will contribute to elevating the academic position and reputation of both HCMUS and NCHU within the international higher education system.
