On the afternoon of 26th September, the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, hosted an important meeting with the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Association SEMI SEA at the Nguyen Van Cu campus in District 5.

The representatives from the University of Science welcoming the delegation included:
– Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President;
Assoc. Prof. Ngô Đại Nghiệp, Head of the Office of External Relations;
– Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Văn Tuấn, Dean of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics;
– Assoc. Prof. Trần Thị Thanh Vân, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology;
– Dr. Đặng Lê Khoa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications;
– Faculty members representing the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics.

Notably, the event also had the honour of welcoming Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, Deputy Director of the Institute for Research and Development (IPTC-VNUHCM) and Co-Chair of the ICEBA 2024 conference.

The delegation from the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Association comprised:
– Mr. Traver Lim, Director of Programme and Business Development;
– Ms. Cecelia Fong, Technology and Programme Manager;
– Ms. Thuy Le, Business Development Manager.

The meeting aimed to propose collaboration in organising short-term professional training courses and to create opportunities for students to intern and work with enterprises affiliated with SEMI SEA. Furthermore, the organising committee of the ICEBA 2024 conference held discussions with the Association regarding technical sponsorship opportunities for the 5th ICEBA Conference in 2024 and 2025.

This event not only opened up promising prospects for collaboration between the University of Science and the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Association but also made a positive contribution to the development of high-quality human resources in the semiconductor technology sector within the Southeast Asian region.
