VIET NAM HOSTS THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR THE FIRST TIME

The International Conference on Advanced and Multifunctional Materials – ICAMM’24 was officially inaugurated at VNUHCM-University of Science on 12 November. The programme marked a significant milestone in collaborative development and research among leading scientists, both domestically and internationally.

The conference featured presentations by Associate Professor Trần Cao Vinh, Vice Chancellor of the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Associate Professor Trần Lê Quan, President of the VNUHCM-University of Science; along with numerous experts from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and France.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan emphasised the importance of ICAMM’24 in expanding knowledge and promoting international cooperation between organisations both within and outside the country. Furthermore, the conference provided an opportunity for young researchers to exchange insights and learn from leading experts in the field.

The conference attracted over 200 scientists and experts from around the globe, featuring 120 presentations that included 60 oral presentations and 60 poster presentations. Attendees gained access to cutting-edge research, breakthrough technologies, and applications in nanomaterials, smart materials, and multifunctional systems.

The plenary session, led by Professor Laurent Duclaux from France, an expert in nanomaterials, particularly in absorption, emphasised both theoretical concepts and practical applications. These discussions held tremendous potential for various fields, including biomedicine, renewable energy, environmental science, and electronics.

Hosted by the VNUHCM-University of Science, the International Conference on Advanced and Multifunctional Materials – ICAMM’24 affirmed the position of Vietnamese science within the international community. The programme aimed to serve as a bridge between scientists, motivate the younger generation to engage in research, and foster the development of materials science both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, the success of the conference stemmed from the support of major sponsors, including MTechnology, Horiba, LMS, Hải Nam, Anton Paar, Ametek, and Intins. These sponsors not only provided essential resources but also contributed to the establishment of a collaborative environment for international scientific development.
