From 23 to 27 February 2026, VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) joined a delegation from Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City to participate in APAIE 2026—the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition—held in Hong Kong.

APAIE stands as one of the four premier global assemblies in international education. The conference seeks to foster academic cooperation, strengthen connections between prestigious higher education institutions, and support the development of international curricula, research, and exchange programmes within the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2026, APAIE convened over 3,000 delegates and approximately 500 higher education institutions from more than 70 countries and territories, creating a vast arena for academic networking and international partnership.

Marking a debut appearance at APAIE, HCMUS proactively engaged in meetings and working sessions with over 30 universities and renowned educational organisations from countries and territories including the United States, Australia, Japan, Italy, Turkey, China, India, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Slovakia, and Hong Kong. Discussions focused on collaborative fields in teaching and research, with particular emphasis on the exchange of faculty, undergraduate students, and postgraduates.

Throughout the event, representatives from HCMUS also attended specialist seminars and workshops regarding academic connectivity and international student mobility. Notably, the delegation held bilateral meetings with the City University of Hong Kong to discuss and align strategic directions for implementing cooperation in education and scientific research.

By participating in APAIE 2026, HCMUS continues to affirm a commitment to international integration in this new phase of development. This engagement serves to promote the University’s profile professionally, enhancing the reputation and standing of HCMUS within regional and global higher education networks.
