On the morning of October 7^th, the VNUHCM-University of Science cooperated with the VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation opened the official survey to evaluate the quality of educational institutions according to the standard set issued under the Circular Number of 12/2017/TT-BGDĐT on May 19^th, 2017 of the Minister of Education and Training.

Attending the ceremony on the side of the VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation, there is Dr Tạ Thị Thu Hiền – Director; on the side of the External Assessment Team, there are Prof. Dr Nguyễn Hữu Đức – Head of the Delegation, Dr Trần Hữu Lượng – Secretary and members of the Delegation; on the side of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, there are representatives of leaders of departments and affiliated units; on the side of the VNUHCM-University of Science, there are Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan – Rector of the University, and members of the Board of Directors and representatives of leaders of functional departments, leaders of faculties, staff, lecturers and students.

At the Opening, on behalf of the Leaders of the VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation, Dr Tạ Thị Thu Hiền evaluated the results of the activities and acknowledged the efforts of the University of Science in the activities of ensuring the educational quality and thanked the University for trusting, selecting and coordinating effectively with the VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation to carry out this external assessment.

On behalf of the University of Science, Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan – Rector of the University presented an overview of the University, the self-assessment process implemented by the University, and the strengths, shortcomings and challenges for the University in the next period. Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan also thanked the Central’s Leaders and the Delegation of Experts for assessing education qualifications for the 2^nd period at the University. The University firmly believes that with its affluent experience and expertise, the External Evaluation Team will help the University identify activities that need improvement and provide valuable recommendations for remediation and quality improvement on the educational quality of the University. Besides, the University will cooperate and create all favourable conditions for the External Assessment Team to complete the official survey.

The official survey to evaluate the educational quality of the 2^nd period of the University of Science will take place from October 7^th, 2022, to the end of October 12^th, 2022. After the opening session, the External Assessment Team will conduct research activities, interviews, and surveys to collect feedback from stakeholders and visit and inspect the University’s facilities to make judgments and assess the level of meeting the quality standard requirements for the activities of the University.
