On the morning of September 17^th, at Phú An Bamboo Village (Bến Cát Town), Bình Dương Provincial People’s Committee, World Bamboo Organization, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, VNUHCM-University of Science, Phu An Bamboo Village Management Board jointly organize the 4^th World Bamboo Seminar in 2022.

Attending the seminar were Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyễn Minh Tâm – Vice president of VNUHCM, Mr Michel Abadie – President of the World Bamboo Organization, Mr Nguyễn Văn Dành – Vice Chairman of Bình Dương Provincial People’s Committee, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hoàng Yến – Deputy Director of Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan – Rector of the VNUHCM-University of Science, Dr Diệp Thị Mỹ Hạnh – Chairman of Phu An Bamboo Village Project and nearly 200 lecturers, experts, and researchers inside and outside the country.

At the seminar, leading experts from Viet Nam and around the world will present thematic reports related to bamboo, such as the Introduction of Vietnamese bamboo species, solutions for the conservation and propagation of bamboo from the world’s experience, producing handicraft products from bamboo by advanced techniques; the role and application of bamboo in architecture and construction; the local strategy of greening bare land with bamboo trees to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; new and advanced materials from bamboo and bamboo fibres in the process of replacing traditional wood materials.

Within the framework of the seminar, from September 16^th to 18^th, at Phu An Bamboo Village, there are abundant and meaningful activities, such as exhibitions of bamboo varieties, bamboo products, tissue culture techniques for bamboo propagation; cultural and artistic exchange activities related to bamboo; result announcement of the bamboo architectural design contest, etc.
