On 5 March 2026, at the Nguyen Van Cu campus, VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) received and held a working session with a delegation from Kyushu University (Japan) to exchange information and discuss future directions for academic cooperation.
Representing HCMUS was Professor Ngô Đại Nghiệp, Head of the External Relations Office. The Kyushu University delegation included Ms Ito Kazuko from the International Students Exchange Division, International Affairs Department, and Ms Nguyen Thanh Thuy, representing the Kyushu University Office in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.
During the meeting, both institutions presented overviews of their respective developmental histories, educational strengths, and research priorities. The HCMUS representatives shared insights into current degree programmes, scientific research activities, and the university’s expanding international partnership networks. In turn, Kyushu University highlighted the institution’s international curricula, research environment, and various opportunities available to international students.

Building upon shared strengths, the two parties discussed potential avenues for future collaboration, including student exchange schemes, joint scientific research projects, and the development of collaborative educational programmes. These initial discussions open promising prospects for establishing formal academic channels between these two leading Asian universities.

The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of openness and constructive dialogue, further strengthening the international connectivity of HCMUS and laying a firm foundation for future academic partnerships and scholarly exchanges between the two institutions.
