On 8 May, the VNUHCM-University of Science held a meeting and working session with Dong Nai University at the Nguyen Van Cu campus in District 05.
At the beginning of the session, Dr. Nguyễn Đình Long, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Dong Nai University, presented the objectives of the Dong Nai Provincial Planning and outlined potential areas for collaboration between the two universities:
– Enhancing the pool of skilled human resources for Long Thanh Airport.
– Establishing new training programmes, engaging in joint scientific research, hosting scientific conferences, and collaborating on the development of books, textbooks, and scientific papers.
– Providing support for infrastructure and human resource development.
– Documenting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer work-study programmes and share educational resources and equipment.
– Offering specialised courses and short-term training to expedite skill acquisition and promptly meet market demands.
– Exchanging insights on selecting majors to introduce corresponding programmes.
The representatives from both universities engaged in active discussions, offering pragmatic proposals and solutions in a spirit of inquiry and seriousness to effectively address the interests of both parties. This led to the establishment of mutual understanding and effective cooperation between the two universities, aligning with the future development needs of Dong Nai.
Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President of the HCMUS, suggested the enrolment of students by majors to meet societal demands and the consideration of opening majors that required minimal equipment, investment, and time. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Ngô Đại Nghiệp, Head of the External Relations Office, committed to supporting Dong Nai University in enhancing the qualifications of its human resources at the master’s level.
Dr. Lê Anh Đức, President of Dong Nai University, proposed entering into a MoU for cooperation in establishing training programmes and sharing educational resources. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Bùi Linh Chi, Head of the Academic Affairs Office at Dong Nai University, highlighted the challenges faced by the university regarding laboratory facilities and expressed a desire to seek support from the VNUHCM-University of Science.
