On Sunday morning in 2022, October 30^th, at the VNUHCM-University of Science,  the ‘20 Years of Establishment in the Faculty of Materials Sciences – Rejoint and Gratefulness’ occurred. This event marks a significant milestone after 20 years of establishment, construction and development of the Faculty of Materials Sciences and Technology.

Attending the anniversary was Assoc. Dr Lâm Quang Vinh, Head of the VNUHCM – Science and Technology Department; Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Cao Vinh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Minh Triết, Vice Rector; The teachers are leaders of member units in VNUHCM-US, former leaders of the university and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, the Board of Directors of the University of Science, leaders of the Universities, Institutes and partner enterprises of the Faculty.

To celebrate the 20 years Anniversary, sports activities, including badminton, football, and running, were held with more than 300 athletes from students, alums, officials and enterprises. Those activities are to exercise, connect and create an exciting atmosphere before the official Anniversary.

During the ceremony, generations of alums could reunite and listen to the sharing of teachers and ages of alums and look back on the 20-year Faculty of Materials Science and Technology journey. Despite many difficulties, the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology has achieved outstanding accomplishments in education and scientific research, making an essential contribution to the development of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology at the VNUHCM-University of Science and Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. This is also an opportunity for the Faculty to express its gratitude to the teachers who have been working there and the businesses that have accompanied and supported the Faculty in the past. Furthermore, eleven scholarships, “Study Promotion – Talent Promotion”, are awarded to students with excellent academic performances and difficult family circumstances to support and motivate them in the upcoming learning process.

The event took place in a warm, sincere and emotional atmosphere. Alums feel like they are returning to the shared roof and are determined to perform well in “Connect to shine” to further outspread the spirit of materials science and technology to future generations.
