The Rector of the VNUHCM-University of Science has issued Decision No. 2104 on establishing the Central for Brand Development and Community Connections and Decision No. 2203 on establishing the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Science from 1st December 2022.

According to the approved establishment project, the CENTRAL FOR BRAND DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNITY CONNECTION (referred to as U – Sci-Hub) performs the following tasks: (1) promoting the connection activities of the University associated with the needs of enterprises and social organizations; (2) pooling resources contributed from former officials and former learners; (3) coordinating with enterprises to organize short-term training courses to disseminate and update knowledge, introduce new technologies to serve the community; (4) and bringing science closer to life, to manage and develop the University’s brand to orient the The VNUHCM-University of Sciences to become a leading university in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia on training and scientific research. Prof. Dr Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai was appointed to hold the position of Director of the Central (Decision No. 2140/QD-KHTN).

Faculty of Interdisciplinary Science is the 10th Faculty of the University of Science, established to train bachelor, master and doctoral levels in new disciplines based on linking the fundamental knowledge of critical fields such as Science, Engineering, and Technology. Those fields integrate the knowledge of other areas, including management, education, economy-commerce, etc., to serve in the fields of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary nature according to the demand and the current strong development trend in the world and promoting innovation for the future. In the first 3-year period, the Faculty will develop and implement a pilot training program in Integrated Science, Management Science, Economics, Commerce, Science and Technology, etc., at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the BS-MS transfer, joint training programs with foreign countries. Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyễn Tuyết Phương was appointed as Dean of the Faculty (Decision No. 2204/QD-KHTN).
