PROJECT ‘CƠM NHÀ NHA’ WIN FIRST PLACE IN THE CONTEST OF CREATIVE IDEA CHALLENGE – CIC 2022

‘Cơm Nhà Nha’ (meaning: Family Meals) is a mobile app that helps connect students living far away from home with freelance chefs – housewives or domestic workers, to bring delicious Vietnamese family meals – full of quality – at affordable prices. The ‘Cơm Nhà Nha’ project carries two missions: Improving the health of Vietnamese students through Vietnamese family meals; Accompanying Vietnamese women on the journey of financial independence and freedom.

The project was conceptualized by a group of students from the VNUHCM-University of Science (Nguyễn Trần Anh Duy, Nguyễn Hồng Tấn, Lê Hoàng Sang – Faculty of Information Technology) and Fulbright University, Viet Nam (Lê Trần Hải Yến), excellently won the First Prize and the “Most Favorite Project” award in the Final. Accordingly, the ‘Cơm Nhà Nha’ project received a reward of VND 50 million and a 1-year incubation package at the Software Technology Park of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (ITP) worth VND 100 million, and a study tour package in Singapore or Korea.

The Creative Idea Challenge – CiC 2022 is an annual Startup competition of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), for students nationwide and internationally. The contest is a part of the chain of Startup programs of VNUHCM, a strategic task that actively contributes to developing the highly interactive creative Thu Đuc city.

This year, the contest attracted more than 300 ideas, creative solutions, and startup projects from universities, colleges and schools. According to statistics from the organizers, CIC 2022 has more than 700 candidates from 215 universities, colleges and schools nationwide attending and reaching more than 705,000 students. Contestants trained for more than seven months with entrepreneurship and innovation experts. After four rounds of competition, CIC selected the 21 best projects of two groups of students for the final round.
