On 24 September 2026, the Division of Oceanography, Meteorology and Hydrology at VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) hosted a seminar with Professor Chuen-Fa Ni from National Central University (NCU), Taiwan. The seminar focused on potential collaboration in education and research, strengthening academic links between the two institutions, and introducing students to study opportunities and scholarship programmes at NCU.

The seminar was attended by Associate Professor Trần Thiện Thanh, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering Physics; Professor Chuen-Fa Ni from National Central University (NCU), Taiwan; and lecturers and students from the Division of Oceanography, Meteorology and Hydrology.
During the seminar, the two sides discussed specialist areas and opportunities to strengthen collaboration in education and research. Professor Chuen-Fa Ni introduced study, research and scholarship opportunities at NCU, providing students with further information to support plans for pursuing higher education in an international academic environment.

Nguyễn Thái Vinh Trường, an HCMUS alumnus currently pursuing doctoral studies at NCU, also shared practical insights into the scholarship application process, the academic environment and daily life in Taiwan. Drawing on personal experience, these insights offered students additional guidance for planning future study and research.

The seminar also provided opportunities for students to engage directly with the guest speaker and ask questions about study and research at NCU. Students interested in applying had the opportunity to meet and interview with Professor Chuen-Fa Ni. Through the seminar, lecturers and students from the Division of Oceanography, Meteorology and Hydrology strengthened academic connections with NCU while gaining further insight into international study and research opportunities.
