On the morning of March 4^th, the Council of the VNUHCM-University of Science held the 11^th session of the University’s Council Conference with the participation of the members of the University’s Council; member of the Supervisory Board of the University’s Council; Administrators; representative leaders of functional departments.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr Trần Cao Vinh, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University’s Council, emphasized the critical contents in the meeting related to The enrollment scheme in 2023; The project to open a training program meeting international quality standards in Materials Science; The method of using public property for leasing; Regulations on Internal Expenditure in 2023; The 2023 operation plan of the University’s Council, the Supervisory Board of the University’s Council, and the University. At the same time, affirming the role of the University’s Council Members in providing comments on the proposed proposals.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Trần Lê Quan, the Rector, reported on the Draft of the University’s Operational Plan in 2023; Draft Regulations on the organization and operation of the University; Project on the management and use of the public property at the VNUHCM-University of Science for leasing. This clearly shows the responsibilities and contents of the University’s plan in the essential action plan in the first years of implementing the Project on Renovating the Operation Mechanism.

Participating in the discussion, Assoc. Prof. Dr Vũ Hải Quân, Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU-HCM, and President of VNU-HCM, said that “The implementation of the contents of the University’s Operational Plan for 2023, it is necessary to pay attention to the level of students’ satisfaction with the University’s activities; satisfaction level of officers and officials with the management and operation of the University”.

“In addition, the University should pay attention to short-term training programs that can meet the needs of society, will ChatGPT affect higher education activities and students?” DSc. Nguyễn Hữu Lệ, Chairman of TMA Technology Group (TTG) – Member of the University Council, shared.

Besides, “The control of service quality when leasing public properties is also a matter of top concern”, said Mr Diệp Bảo Cánh, General Director of Redsun Solar Energy Joint Stock Company – Member of the University’s Council emphasized.

Participating in the content report, DSc. Trần Thái Sơn, Head of Training Department – Member of the University’s Council, has clearly stated that the enrollment scheme in 2023, the University has 28 significant majors and enrols students in 06 methods. In addition, 500 targets are expected to be recruited for the Distance Learning Program. However, there will be no regular admissions for the Joint Program in 2023.

After commenting, the University’s Council members voted to approve 09 draft contents proposed by the University in the meeting.
