On 15 October, VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Marvell Technology Viet Nam Co., Ltd. The agreement focuses on developing specialised training in integrated circuit (IC) design, particularly high-speed IC design for AI data infrastructure, while expanding opportunities for students in learning, research and career development.
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance, growing demand for data infrastructure and high-speed processing capabilities is creating new requirements for IC design. This is also an area of specialisation that warrants greater emphasis in semiconductor workforce development. Collaboration with a company possessing expertise in this field enables HCMUS to update subject-specific knowledge and incorporate practical industry requirements into teaching and learning.
The central focus of the agreement is the joint development and delivery of the course ‘High-Speed IC Design for AI Data Infrastructure’. The course is expected to be incorporated as an elective for students in the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications. Through the programme, students will have the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge of high-speed IC design in the context of the evolving requirements of data infrastructure for AI applications.
Under the collaboration plan, Marvell Viet Nam will provide teaching materials and appoint industry specialists to co-teach the course, bringing practical industry perspectives into the learning experience. Beyond training, both parties also aim to expand students’ career development opportunities through career guidance, scholarships, internships and recruitment.

The agreement also establishes a framework for periodic evaluation of training outcomes and the gradual expansion of joint research projects. This will enable both parties to maintain professional dialogue, assess the effectiveness of programme delivery and develop further collaborative activities aligned with training and research needs in the IC sector.
Marvell Viet Nam has already supported HCMUS through several activities prior to the signing of the agreement. The company sponsored the ICDV 2025 International Conference, contributed speakers to ICACS activities and organised specialised seminars for students. Looking ahead, both parties plan to continue organising company visits, giving students specialising in IC design further opportunities to explore the professional environment and technical activities within industry.
Through the agreement with Marvell Viet Nam, VNUHCM–University of Science continues to strengthen links with industry in the semiconductor sector, with a view to bringing education, research and industrial practice into closer alignment. The collaboration is expected to provide students with further opportunities to develop specialised knowledge, gain professional experience and prepare for careers in IC design.
Founded in 1995, Marvell is a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, USA. With more than 7,000 employees and over 10,000 patents, Marvell develops semiconductor technology solutions for data infrastructure. Viet Nam is home to Marvell’s third-largest research and development (R&D) centre worldwide, with offices in Ho Chi Minh City.
