On October 3, at Xuyen A General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City), VNUHCM-University of Science and Xuyen A General Hospital Investment Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in scientific research and education in the field of Medical Physics.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan – President of the University; Dr. Võ Hồng Hải – Deputy Head of the Office of External Relations; Assoc. Prof. Trần Thiện Thanh – Vice dean of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; Dr. Phan Lê Hoàng Sang – Deputy Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics, together with representatives of relevant units. From Xuyen A General Hospital, attendees included Dr. Nguyễn Phú Định – Medical Director of the Xuyen A Hospital system; MSc. Đỗ Nguyễn Hạ Nhi – Director of Human Resources and Administration; Dr. Lê Anh Phương – Head of the Oncology – Radiotherapy Department; MSc. Đống Văn Hiếu Ân – Deputy Head in charge of Radiation Safety, along with leaders and representatives of specialised departments.

According to the Memorandum, the two parties agreed to establish long-term cooperation in three key areas. First, to jointly develop and implement continuous training programmes in Medical Physics under Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT, focusing on practice in Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine, for final-year students and recent graduates in related disciplines. Second, to promote an Institute–Hospital collaboration model, under which the hospital annually welcomes students and postgraduate learners for observation, internships, and thesis work, while creating opportunities for lecturers and experts from both sides to participate in teaching and practical supervision. Third, to strengthen scientific research collaboration in Medical Physics and Health Sciences through joint projects and shared professional activities.
In their remarks, representatives from both institutions affirmed the importance of connecting training institutions and healthcare facilities to enhance teaching quality, broaden clinical practice opportunities for learners, and contribute to developing high-quality human resources to meet social needs.
Following the signing ceremony, the delegation from the University of Science toured the facilities and professional systems of Xuyen A General Hospital to gain a better understanding of the operations and to prepare for the effective implementation of the cooperation activities in the near future.
