On the evening of 8th September, the Award Ceremony of the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Creative Award (2023) took place with great pomp at the Saigon Opera House. This esteemed event, organised by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, celebrated the ingenuity of 58 projects contributed by 51 collectives and 7 individuals, all aimed at developing innovative solutions.

Among the distinguished winners, the project titled ‘Research on Manufacturing Thin Film Materials Based on Zinc Oxide for Application in Converting Waste Heat into Electrical Energy and Protecting the Environment’ received the Third Prize in the Science and Technology category. This project is a collaborative effort between the Centre for Research on Nano and Molecular Structured Materials (INOMAR) and the High-Tech Materials Laboratory of the VNUHCM-University of Science, showcasing a commendable contribution to the field of sustainable technology.

The Ho Chi Minh City Creative Award is a prestigious accolade conferred biennially by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. This award recognises and celebrates organisations and individuals who have made significant contributions through innovative research, practical solutions, and creative endeavours that positively impact the city’s development.

The primary aim of the award is to inspire and encourage participation from various sectors, including governmental agencies, enterprises, and citizens from all walks of life, in creative initiatives that foster economic growth, cultural enrichment, and societal advancement. Additionally, it serves to promote international integration while ensuring robust national defence and security within Ho Chi Minh City.
