On the morning of 11th July, HORIBA Viet Nam Ltd. and ICG Corporation visited the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, where they donated 30 rosewood trees and 30 waste sorting devices in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam National University in Ho Chi Minh City. This initiative also supported Viet Nam’s commitment made at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), which aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve Net Zero by 2050.

Representatives from the partner companies included Mr. Trần Khắc Vượng, Director of the HORIBA Ho Chi Minh City Branch from HORIBA Viet Nam Ltd.; Ms. Phan Ngọc Huyền Trân, Director; and Mr. Nguyễn Duy Thanh, Deputy Director from ICG Corporation. On behalf of the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, the President of the University, and Assoc. Prof. Trần Văn Mẫn, Head of the Science and Technology Office.

HORIBA is a company specialising in the manufacture of measurement and analysis devices, providing a range of advanced equipment for key markets such as the automotive, semiconductor manufacturing, energy, biotechnology, environment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and food sectors.

ICG is a consulting firm that offered technological solutions, equipment, consumables, chemicals, and various other services in the fields of engineering, electronics, semiconductor technology, energy, industry, and related areas.

Net Zero, or “Zero Net Emissions,” is an environmental goal aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a point of balance, thereby bringing total net emissions down to zero, which plays a vital role in mitigating the impacts of climate change. In November 2021, during the COP26 conference held in Scotland, Viet Nam committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and reducing methane emissions by 30% by 2030. These commitments were highly regarded and opened up opportunities for cooperation with both domestic and international partners, promoting the development of a circular economy and adaptation to climate change.
