The International Scientific Conference on “Green Solutions and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” will hold its second edition in 2025 (GSETS 2025). This prestigious event will focus on advanced achievements in the fields of Materials Science, Green Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GSETS 2025 will form part of the series of events commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) (26 April 1995 – 26 April 2025), with the intention of enhancing cooperation and exchange between universities in Vietnam and abroad, sharing research experiences, and transferring applications related to advanced materials and new technologies for sustainability.

The conference will take place on the 10th and 11th of April 2025 at HUTECH (Thu Duc Campus), Ho Chi Minh City.

1. Themes: The conference will concentrate on discussing the following specialised topics:

Theme 1: Advanced Materials and Green Manufacturing Technologies
– Advanced functional materials.
– Nanotechnology; bio-nano materials.
– 3D printing materials; CO2 storage and absorption materials.
– Materials for energy conversion.
– Solid mechanics.
– Computational mechanics.
– Material synthesis from natural sources.
– Green synthesis and production; green chemistry.

Theme 2: Sustainable Development Solutions and Technologies
– Extraction and green technology.
– Organic recycling and circular economy.
– Renewable energy.
– Sustainable agriculture and food biotechnology.
– Production of sustainable bio-based products.
– New materials and solutions for environmental pollution treatment.
– Air and wastewater pollution treatment technologies.

Theme 3: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development
– Artificial Intelligence for green and sustainable development purposes.
– Big data analytics concerning green and sustainable development.
– Applications of data science and artificial intelligence in smart city development.
– Safety and security in data mining and machine learning.

2. Registration Process for Conference Participation and Submission of Papers
– Participants will fill out the form at https://tinyurl.com/GSETS-2025-conference to register and submit an abstract (written in English).
– If the abstract aligns with the conference themes, the Organising Committee will request the distinguished faculty and authors to submit a full paper, detailed as follows:
+ Manuscripts will be written in English, adhering to the content and format regulations of the Organising Committee (abstract/full paper presentation template: see here). Submitted manuscripts will undergo a peer review process before acceptance for publication.
+ Accepted full papers for publication will be released online in the GSETS 2025 Conference Proceedings, assigned an ISBN. High-quality papers will have the opportunity to be selected for publication in special issues of the Journal of Development and Integration (JDI), Viet Nam Journal of Mechanics, Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology (Q2, IF 3.1), and Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews (Q1, IF 5.8).

3. Important Deadlines
– Deadline for authors to submit abstracts: 15 November 2024;
– Deadline for abstract acceptance: 25 November 2024;
– Deadline for full paper submission: 31 December 2024;
– Deadline for providing review results to authors: 15 February 2025;
– Deadline for submitting revised papers to the Organising Committee: 10 March 2025;
– Final registration deadline for conference attendance: 10 March 2025;
– Conference dates: 10-11 April 2025.

4. Conference Fees
Participants will need to pay a conference fee depending on their registration category (researchers/students, graduate students, PhD students/participants).

Note: The conference fee will NOT include travel and accommodation costs during the conference period, nor will it cover processing fees for manuscripts selected for publication in special issues of journals associated with the conference.
