The visit of the delegation from the University of Saskatchewan aimed to promote research and exchange programmes between the two universities, particularly in the fields of nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, and sustainable environmental issues.
On 4th March, a delegation from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, visited and engaged in discussions at the NVC campus of VNUHCM-University of Science. This event was part of ongoing academic exchange and research collaboration programmes between the two institutions.
The delegation from the University of Saskatchewan included Mr. Ha Nguyen – Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Office in Viet Nam; Ms. Courtney Schroeder – Director of Student Recruitment; Dr. Baljit Singh – Vice President of Research; Dr. Jerome Cranston – Vice Provost of Student and Learning; Ms. Thao Tran – Trade and Investment Office; Ms. Anna Ditablan – Executive Director of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Government of Saskatchewan; and Ms. Louise Michaud – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Government of Saskatchewan.

On the side of the VNUHCM-University of Science, the welcoming meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan – President of the University of Science; Dr. Võ Hồng Hải – Deputy Head of the Office of External Relations; Prof. Châu Văn Tạo – Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; Dr. Phan Lê Hoàng Sang – Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; and MSc. Trần Quốc Đạt – Deputy Head of the Office of Student Affairs.

The visit by the University of Saskatchewan delegation aimed to strengthen research and exchange programmes between the two institutions. The primary focus of this collaboration concerns nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, and sustainable environmental issues, a topic of significant priority in Canada and the province of Saskatchewan in particular.
The University of Saskatchewan, known for its research in water security, food security, vaccine development, and infectious diseases, is one of the key partners the University of Science is looking to collaborate with in terms of research and education. Both sides expressed their interest in developing extensive collaboration programmes, ranging from faculty exchanges, doctoral candidates, undergraduate students, and postgraduate students.

The meeting provided a platform for representatives to meet, exchange knowledge, and explore potential joint research projects, thereby enhancing international cooperation and exchange in the field of education. With a commitment to sustainable research and innovation, both universities are keen to contribute to the global development of education and science and technology.
