On 5 June, the VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) welcomed a delegation of academics and students from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as part of an international academic and cultural exchange programme. Organised by PolyU, the initiative aims to foster mutual understanding, promote academic collaboration, and lay the foundation for joint efforts in education and research.
Academic Discussions and Institutional Exchange

The PolyU delegation comprised senior leadership and administrative staff, including Ir Prof. Ben Young – Vice President (Student and Global Affairs); Prof. Geoffrey Shen – Vice President (Global Partnerships); Ir Prof. Horace Mui – Acting Director of Student Affairs; Miss Joyce Cheung – Head of Student Resources and Support (Office of Student Affairs); Administrative staff and students from PolyU.

During the working session, both parties presented overviews of their institutional structures, academic programmes, and strategic priorities in science and technology. Discussions also centred on potential areas of collaboration, including joint educational initiatives, research partnerships, thematic academic workshops, and international student exchange schemes.

Student Engagement and Cultural Academic Sharing

Subsequent to the formal meeting, PolyU students hosted a series of interactive workshops with their counterparts at HCMUS. Topics included:
- Student life and academic experiences in Hong Kong from the perspective of international learners;
- The concept of a green university and PolyU’s sustainable campus initiatives.

The content was conveyed through engaging formats such as interactive games, group activities, and open discussion sessions. The workshops were interspersed with brief cultural performances by students from both institutions, contributing to a collegial and vibrant atmosphere that strengthened interpersonal and intercultural bonds.

Strengthening International Collaboration and Integration
The visit and exchange programme with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University took place in a spirit of positivity, openness, and effectiveness.
