The undergraduate team from the Faculty of Chemistry, accompanied by their academic advisors, at VNUHCM-University of Science, prior to their participation in the 12th National Undergraduate Chemistry Olympiad – 2025.

With a 100% success rate for all participants and the remarkable achievement of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Category A, the Chemistry undergraduate team from VNUHCM-University of Science affirmed academic excellence at the 12th National Undergraduate Chemistry Olympiad 2025, held from 15 to 19 April at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNUHCM.

The National Undergraduate Chemistry Olympiad is a prestigious academic competition organised biennially by the Ministry of Education and Training, in cooperation with the Viet Nam Chemical Society. The competition provides an opportunity for undergraduates across the country to showcase professional knowledge, nurture research passion, foster academic connections, and enhance the quality of education and teaching in the field of Chemistry.

This year, the University of Science’s Chemistry team competed alongside 316 undergraduates from 62 teams, representing 45 educational institutions nationwide. The competition was divided into three categories:

– Category A: For undergraduates majoring in Chemistry

– Category B: For undergraduates with a general background in Chemistry

– Category C: For non-Chemistry undergraduates

The participants competed in three components: theoretical knowledge, practical knowledge, and hands-on laboratory skills.

The Chemistry undergraduate team from the University of Science participated in Categories A and B, with each category consisting of one team of five members. The teams were led by faculty lecturers, with Dr. Trương Lâm Sơn Hải (Department of Analytical Chemistry) serving as Head of the delegation and Dr. Nguyễn Trường Hải (Department of Organic Chemistry) as Deputy Head.

Through careful preparation, focus, determination, and adaptability, the Chemistry undergraduate team made a significant impact on the competition. All team members won awards, and the team became the only one to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award in Category A.
