The Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing Jiaotong University visited and worked with the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, marking an important milestone in the establishment of scientific and educational international cooperation, opening up numerous opportunities for future research and academic development.
On 18th February, at the Nguyen Van Cu campus, the VNUHCM-University of Science hosted a reception and working session with a delegation from the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Beijing Jiaotong University (BJU), China, led by Prof. Fangli Yuan. The meeting not only provided an opportunity for academic exchange but also opened up prospects for future international research cooperation between the parties.

Representatives from the VNUHCM-University of Science who participated in the meeting included Dr. Võ Hồng Hải – Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations, Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Thái Hoàng – Head of the Physical Chemistry Department, Faculty of Chemistry, along with faculty members from the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology. The involvement of undergraduate and postgraduate students created a dynamic academic environment, serving as a bridge for knowledge and experience exchange between the parties.

The meeting began with an overview of the respective institutions, highlighting achievements in scientific research and education. The CAS and BJU delegation provided detailed information about their research facilities, educational programmes, scholarships, and opportunities for scientific research cooperation. Notably, Prof. Mingshui Yao shared insights into the modern research infrastructure at CAS and highlighted the Institute’s prominent research achievements, particularly in the field of Porous Materials.

Assoc. Prof. Yijun Yang from BJU also shared notable research outcomes in the fields of Electrochemistry and Materials Science and Technology. These achievements not only contributed to the enhancement of education and research quality at BJU but also opened up future collaboration opportunities in scientific research projects in these two key areas.

The meeting went beyond professional exchanges; it became an important step towards future research cooperation projects, particularly in the fields of Chemistry and Materials Science and Technology. Both sides expressed their hopes for a long-term collaborative relationship, promoting opportunities for learning and research for international faculty members, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students. Specifically, opportunities for scholarships, academic exchange programmes, and joint research projects would form a solid foundation for sustained collaboration between the parties.

The meeting concluded in a friendly, open, and enthusiastic atmosphere. This was not only an opportunity for researchers, lecturers, and students to interact and learn from one another but also a crucial first step in the international scientific and educational cooperation journey between the VNUHCM-University of Science and prestigious international partners.
