On the morning of 7th October, VNUHCM-University of Science collaborated with VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation to commence the official survey aimed at evaluating the quality of educational institutions in accordance with the standards set forth by Circular No. 12/2017/TT-BGDĐT, issued by the Minister of Education and Training on 19th May 2017.
In attendance at the ceremony from VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation were Dr. Tạ Thị Thu Hiền, the Director; from the External Assessment Team were Prof. Nguyễn Hữu Đức, Head of the Delegation, Dr. Trần Hữu Lượng, Secretary, and other team members. Representatives from the leadership of various departments and affiliated units of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City were present, along with Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President of the University, members of the Board of Directors, and representatives from functional departments, faculties, staff, lecturers, and students of VNUHCM-University of Science.
During the opening, Dr. Tạ Thị Thu Hiền, representing the leadership of VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation, reflected on the outcomes achieved thus far, acknowledging the University of Science’s efforts in ensuring educational quality. She expressed gratitude to the University for its trust, selection, and effective cooperation with VNUHN-Central for Education Accreditation in conducting this external assessment.
In his address, Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President of the University of Science, presented a comprehensive overview of the institution, detailing the self-assessment process undertaken by the University, along with its strengths, weaknesses, and the challenges it faced moving forward. He also expressed appreciation to the Central’s leaders and the Delegation of Experts for their involvement in the educational quality assessment during this second period. The University held strong confidence that the External Evaluation Team, with its extensive experience and expertise, would assist in identifying areas requiring improvement and offer valuable recommendations for enhancement and quality improvement in the University’s educational offerings. Furthermore, the University committed to cooperating fully and providing all necessary support to enable the External Assessment Team to successfully complete the official survey.
The official survey evaluating the educational quality of the University of Science for the second period was scheduled to take place from 7th October 2022 until the end of 12th October 2022. Following the opening session, the External Assessment Team engaged in research activities, conducted interviews, and collected feedback from stakeholders, as well as visiting and inspecting the University’s facilities to form judgements and assess the extent to which the quality standard requirements for the University’s activities were met.
