On 10 June, VNUHCM-University of Science welcomed a delegation from VNG Group — one of Viet Nam’s leading technology enterprises—for a working visit. The meeting marked a new phase in the strategic collaboration between academia and industry in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

During the meeting, both sides agreed on several key directions for cooperation, focusing on training, research, and technology transfer in AI—an area playing a critical role in digital transformation and the development of a knowledge-based economy.

Proposed highlights of the partnership include: provision of computing infrastructure for research groups (such as GPUs and AI servers), joint implementation of R&D projects involving students, lecturers, and VNG Group engineers, and the establishment of a shared research space connecting experts from both sides. In addition, ongoing initiatives such as company tours, career-oriented talks, and internship programmes will continue and be further expanded.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong commitment from VNG Group to accompany the university in training high-quality human resources and in fostering a dynamic, sustainable innovation ecosystem in Viet Nam.

Previously, VNG Group had pledged to collaborate with VNUHCM and the member institutions in developing and implementing joint training programmes, aiming to educate at least 1,000 students through cooperative efforts. A projected investment of 25 billion VND has been allocated by VNG Group to support research projects conducted by university staff and students.

Further areas of cooperation include incubation and commercialisation of potential scientific and technological products, contributing to the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit within the academic community.

The partnership between VNG Group and VNUHCM-University of Science represents a concrete step towards the realisation of this comprehensive collaboration framework.
