On 22 July 2026, a delegation from VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) held a working session with Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital to review collaborative outcomes achieved to date and discuss directions for expanding the partnership in the coming period.

The HCMUS delegation was led by MSc Văn Chí Nam, Vice President of the University, together with representatives from relevant units. The delegation was welcomed by Dr Võ Đức Hiếu, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, along with representatives from relevant departments and specialist units of the hospital.

During the session, both sides discussed strengthening the connection between higher education and clinical practice in training, scientific research and human resource development. Key areas identified for future collaboration included maintaining student internship opportunities and supervision; promoting the involvement of lecturers, experts and physicians in teaching and academic mentoring; jointly implementing research projects; compiling and publishing professional materials; and developing annual collaborative programmes aligned with the needs and strengths of both institutions.

The two sides also reviewed ongoing collaborative activities and discussed plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the near future, creating a framework for expanding future joint initiatives.

The strengthened partnership between VNUHCM–University of Science (HCMUS) and Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital is expected to provide greater opportunities for students and doctoral researchers in learning, practical training and research. The partnership will contribute to enhancing training quality, advancing applied research in medical physics, and strengthening the link between education, research and professional practice, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the health sciences sector.
