On the morning of 25 May, at the Linh Trung Campus (VNUHCM Urban Area, Thu Duc City), the VNUHCM-University of Science hosted Student & Business Fair 2025, welcoming the participation of 33 enterprises from various sectors including technology, finance, education, research, manufacturing, and services. The event attracted significant attention from students both within and beyond the University, reflecting a strong connection between academic training and the realities of the labour market.

As an annual event organised by the VNUHCM-University of Science, Student & Business Fair aims to enhance connections with businesses and support students in actively engaging with recruitment practices early in their academic journey. The event provides opportunities for students to sharpen their expertise, stay informed of employers’ expectations, clarify their career paths, and gradually strengthen their adaptability in a rapidly evolving society.

Fostering Employability through Real-World Exposure
Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết – Vice President of VNUHCM-University of Science, delivers the opening speech at the 2025 Student & Business Fair.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President of the University, shared:

“The University encourages students to continuously update their knowledge and skills to meet the practical demands of modern society and enterprises. Activities that foster engagement between students and businesses are always a key focus, enabling students to gain exposure to real working environments, thereby improving their professional competence and adaptability after graduation.”

Diverse and Effective Engagement Activities
Students explore full-time and part-time job opportunities at the career introduction area.

Within the framework of the programme, over 2,000 internship and employment opportunities were directly introduced to students through networking and on-site interviews conducted at enterprise booths. Many students boldly applied, exercised communication skills, and assessed their own capabilities in a setting that simulated actual recruitment processes.

The recruitment interview area was located close to enterprise booths to facilitate direct interaction between students and employers.

In parallel, the “Start-up Ideas – Creative Products” exhibition provided a platform for showcasing models, devices, and technological products designed and developed by students. Highlights included the Rubik Cube Solver, Gesture-Controlled Car, Maze-Solving Robot, Pandora’s Science Box, Telescope, and Yolobit-based games. These products reflect a spirit of innovation and represent the integration of academic knowledge with real-world applications, fostering students’ passion for scientific research and entrepreneurship.

These sessions were highly praised for their practical relevance, equipping students with essential skills to enter the professional environments with confidence and flexibility—especially amidst digital transformation and rapid labour market changes.

Promoting Social Values – Supporting Students in Need

A particularly meaningful highlight of the programme was the scholarship initiative “Lighting up Dreams”. Ten scholarships (worth VND 5 million each) were awarded to students in difficult circumstances who have achieved good academic results and actively participated in Youth Union and Association activities. This initiative exemplifies the shared commitment of the University and enterprises to supporting students on their path to knowledge and holistic development.
