On September 1^st and 2^nd, the Symposium on 3D Object Retrieval 2022 (3DOR’22) Conference was held in Florence, Italy. At the meeting, the organisers announced the evaluation results on the topics of the SHREC 2022 contest.

Research groups of students, graduate students, researchers and members of the Faculty of Information Technology, Software Engineering Laboratory (SELab) and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AILab) participated in five of six topics of the SHREC 2022 contest. They achieved the highest results in three out of six topics. The methods of the research groups at the University have been published together with the methods of other research groups around the world in 5 papers in Volume 107 of Computers & Graphics, Elsevier (group Q1).

1. Theme: Sketch-based 3D shape retrieval in the wild

Results: HCMUS-1 achieved First place in both Tasks 1 and 2; HCMUS-2 earned Second place in Task 2.

2. Theme: Pothole and crack detection on road pavement using RGB-D images

Result: Achieved the highest mark in the 3/5 evaluation criteria.

3. Theme: Open-Set 3D Object Retrieval
