On the morning of June 12th, 2023, Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan – Rector, and the delegation of the Faculty of Chemistry, VNUHCM-University of Science visited and worked at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.

Prof. John Kao – Rector of National Tsing Hua University, and leaders of the College of Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Material Sciences, and The Institute of Photonics Technology warmly welcomed the delegation. At the meeting, Prof. John Kao said that he has visited Việt Nam for 04 times and is very fond of the people and nature here, especially Vietnamese students. They are intelligent and enthusiastic. “This is also the reason that we highly appreciate our previous cooperative relationships with the VNUHCM-University of Science, and honoured to be chosen by many of your generations of students as a place for doing post-graduate courses”, shared Prof. Kao.

Following Prof. Kao, Assoc.Prof.Dr Quan also expressed his gratefulness for the hospitality of National Tsing Hua University and former students currently enrolled at the University. At the same time, he affirmed that the learning environment at Tsing Hua University is a reasonable and ideal place where many students dream of studying. “The signing ceremony of cooperation between the VNUHCM-University of Science and the Technical University, National Tsing Hua University will mark the continueing commitment of quality and development in training and research of the two specialized units in Chemistry. In the near future, we will discuss and forward cooperate in Materials Science and Photon Technology, to move towards a more comprehensive cooperation relationship” – Assoc.Prof.Dr Quan further confirmed his expectations.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr Trần Lê Quan and Prof.Dr Hung Yin Tsai – Rector of Technical University (National Tsing Hua University) together signed a cooperation agreement, which includes 02 main contents:

1. The VNUHCM-University of Science commits to introducing excellent students to study and do their research at the Technical University in Chemistry programs.
2. The successful applicants will be guided mainly by lecturers of the Technical University and co-led by lecturers of VNUHCM-University of Science. In the end, students can achieve the output standards of both universities.

The Delegation will continue working in the next 05 days, participating in scientific conferences, visiting and meeting with scientists at the Institute of Chemistry – Academia Sinica, National Tsing Hua University, National Central University, and National Chung Hsing University.
