In 2024, the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, plans to increase student recruitment by 10% to over 3,900 while maintaining the same 06 admission methods, including:
Method 1: Direct admission, priority admission according to the official university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;
Method 2: Priority for direct admission and Priority for admission according to regulations of VNUHCM;
Method 3: Admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam;Method 4: Admission based on the results of the 2024 Academic Proficiency Test (APT) organised by VNUHCM;Method 5: Admission based on academic results of the International High School for Vietnamese students and foreign students living and studying in Viet Nam;
Method 6: Admission based on the results of international foreign language certificates combined with high school academic results applicable to Vietnamese students (only for the English Enhancement Programme).
The University is offering two new Majors to address the high demand for skilled human resources in the IC-semiconductor industry: Circuit Design and Semiconductor Science and Technology. We’re also investing in advanced labs, strengthening our team, collaborating with businesses, and enhancing teaching modules with course contents in English to meet global standards and prepare students for the workforce in Viet Nam and worldwide.
The VNUHCM-University of Science grants a scholarship package worth 2 billion VND for the 2024 recruitment season. The scholarship is intended for outstanding students in seven key industries, including Physics, Oceanography, Nuclear Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Science, and Environmental Technology. The scholarship aims to support the development of top-tier talent aligned with the country’s strategic priorities, such as sustainable development, science and technology advancement, and innovation, with a focus on achieving these goals by 2030.
The fields of study listed have low competition rates, but offer diverse career opportunities. Graduates can pursue postgraduate scholarships and careers in research facilities, natural resources and environment departments, NGOs, and international projects. They can also work in businesses related to new and renewable energy, environmental impact assessment, and sustainable exploitation and management of resources and minerals. Additionally, they can work in educational institutions through STEM education.
The University has established policies to support talented students and those facing financial difficulties. Apart from that, the University also collaborates with businesses and alumni to offer study promotion scholarships. This ensures that no student is forced to discontinue their studies due to financial constraints, thereby upholding the university’s commitment to providing equal education opportunities to all.
