On the morning of 13th May 2023, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Science at VNUHCM-University of Science successfully hosted a seminar titled ‘Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and Human Resource Development in Educational Technology’. The event was attended by leaders from various departments, agencies, and sectors; representatives from educational institutions; experts; businesses; and media representatives, all of whom are engaged in the digital transformation of education.
Five key topics were discussed during the seminar, namely:
- Educational technology and digital transformation in education;
- Designing educational experiences using AR and VR technologies;
- Advantages and obstacles in online teaching;
- ChatGPT: Opportunities and challenges for educational technology products in Viet Nam;
- Applying Google technology to enhance the digital competency of teachers and students.
The University of Science, part of the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, stands at the forefront of implementing digital transformation in education. The university is committed to the continual enhancement and updating of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training programmes, as well as the integration of intelligent systems for the efficient management of teaching activities in contemporary educational settings.
From the practical outcomes of the digital transformation process, Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President, presented insights on the strengths of VNUHCM-University of Science concerning human resource training in educational technology. He expressed hope that these experiences would be beneficial to other institutions on a similar journey.
The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Science extends gratitude to the speakers for their contributions, as well as to Sai Gon Education Company for its sponsorship. From the discussions held, it is hoped that participants gained valuable and practical perspectives on new directions within the education sector, aligning with advancements in science and technology as well as information and communication technology.
