In recent years, there has been a significant increase in scientific publications, which has sparked concerns about ethics and integrity in scientific research among managers, researchers, and organisations. To support the development of science and technology and enable Vietnam to make meaningful contributions to the global scientific community, VNUHCM is implementing the Support Programme on PHER’s Ethics and Research Integrity activities at the Viet Nam National University HCMC in 2024.
The PHER project is a 5-year Higher Education Development Support Programme funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), aiming to improve the capacity of three key higher education institutions in Viet Nam: Viet Nam National University, Hanoi; Viet Nam National University HCMC; and the University of Da Nang. The project focuses on improving management, training, and research capacity as well as fostering partnerships between these institutions and enterprises to support Vietnam’s industrialization, modernization, and international integration. Indiana University, USA, is the unit responsible for providing this non-refundable technical support.
The Support Programme occurs at the Headquarters of VNU-HCM and its affiliated units from March 25th to 28th, 2024. On the afternoon of March 26th, 2024, the VNUHCM-University of Science held a meeting and discussion session with VNUHCM and representatives of the PHER project regarding scientific integrity and research ethics.
The working session served to introduce the university’s plan to implement the Research Integrity Regulations, present the results of the Ethics Council’s activities, and exchange opinions on the implementation of research integrity and ethics to improve the operational efficiency of the VNUHCM-University of Science.
