MOU SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN VNUHCM-UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND DNA HOSPITAL

On 6 June 2024, a Signing Ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalised between VNUHCM-University of Science and DNA Hospital at the Hospital’s headquarters, located at 1015 Tran Hung Dao Street, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.

VNUHCM-University of Science, with its distinguished team of researchers, including numerous professors, associate professors, and doctors, had undertaken several research initiatives on stem cells at the Faculty of Biology-Biotechnology and the Stem Cell Institute. This area of research was of mutual interest to both the University and DNA Hospital.

DNA Hospital was the proprietor of a GMP WHO-compliant laboratory in the Stem Cell Tissue Bank, which had been authorised by the Ministry of Health for tissue culturing and was licensed to supply tissues for research projects in educational institutions and scientific research. Furthermore, the Hospital planned to establish an Institute for Research and Training, focusing on stem cells, aesthetics, anti-ageing, and providing therapies for metabolic diseases.

During the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan – President of the University affirmed the commitment of VNUHCM-University of Science to assist the Faculty of Biology-Biotechnology in fostering effective cooperation with DNA Hospital. Additionally, DNA Hospital pledged to offer internship opportunities for HCMUS students. Moreover, a productive exchange and discussion led to the realisation of mutually beneficial potentials and advantages across various fields, including Information Technology, Chemistry, and Physics. This understanding paved the way for numerous opportunities for collaboration and development that both entities eagerly anticipated in the future.

The signing of the MoU between VNUHCM-University of Science and DNA Hospital marked a significant initial step, establishing a foundation for future collaboration between both entities. To initiate this collaboration, the University extended an invitation to the Hospital to participate in the job fair of the Faculty of Biology-Biotechnology, scheduled for 29 June.
