On the morning of 11th November, the 5th International Conference on Engineering, Physics, MEMS-Biosensors and Applications (ICEBA 2024) officially commenced at the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The event was jointly organised by the University, Tohoku University (Japan), and the University of Construction in the Mekong Delta (Vinh Long), attracting the participation of numerous leading experts and scientists from educational institutions and international organisations.
The ICEBA 2024 conference aimed to promote international collaboration in the fields of engineering, physics, MEMS sensors, and their applications. In light of global advancements in technology, the conference served as an important forum for researchers, lecturers, and students to exchange knowledge and share experiences. The VNHUCM-University of Sciences took pride in contributing to the success of this event, with the hope that the conference would establish a strong foundation for future research collaborations.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President of the University of Science, emphasised that “The ICEBA 2024 conference not only provides opportunities to enhance research collaboration but also lays the groundwork for new relationships in the future.” He also expressed gratitude for the support from international organisations, including the IEEE Viet Nam Section, the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ, Japan), the Institute of Korean Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IKEEE, Korea), the Ho Chi Minh Semiconductor Industry Association (HSIA), Synopsys, SEMI, and other sponsors.
At this conference, a total of 104 papers were scheduled for presentation through various discussion sessions, oral presentations, and poster presentations. Some of these papers were evaluated for publication in international journals indexed by Scopus and ISI.
Preparations for the conference had been meticulously undertaken over several months, reflecting the dedication of the organising committees, alongside the support of the Dean, the Vice Dean, and members of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics.
Finally, Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết expressed his hope of meeting delegates again at ICEBA 2025, which is expected to be held in November 2025 in Viet Nam and Taiwan, promising to introduce many innovative topics and discussions in the related fields.
