On 2nd August 2023, a successful signing ceremony was held between VNUHCM-University of Science and Q.I.S Non-destructive Testing Service Co., Ltd (commonly referred to as Q.I.S Co., Ltd).
Q.I.S Co., Ltd is a Vietnamese company specialising in non-destructive testing, industrial surveying, heat treatment, project quality management services, as well as research and transfer of Green and High Technology.
Representing the University at the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President; Assoc. Prof. Ngô Đại Nghiệp, Head of the External Relations Office; Dr. Võ Hồng Hải, Deputy Head of the External Relations Office; Assoc. Prof. Trần Thị Thanh Vân, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Văn Tuấn, Dean of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; Assoc. Prof. Trần Thiện Thanh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; Prof. Châu Văn Tạo, Head of the Department in the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics; Assoc. Prof. Lê Vũ Tuấn Hùng, Head of another Department in the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics, along with various esteemed lecturers.
Notable guests in attendance included M.Sc. Nguyễn Ngọc Huynh, Head of the Licensing Department; Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Tuấn Khải, Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety at the Ministry of Science and Technology; and Ph.D. Sajeesh Kumar Bapu, President of the World Electronics Association, who attended via an online platform. Furthermore, Mr. Lê Văn Nghi, Chairman and General Director of Q.I.S Co., Ltd, was present at the event.
The signing of this partnership highlights a significant collaboration aimed at advancing research and development in areas pertinent to non-destructive testing and quality management, thereby reinforcing strong academic and industrial ties within Viet Nam.
The signing ceremony formally established a partnership between VNUHCM-University of Science and Q.I.S Non-destructive Testing Service Co., Ltd, focusing on experimental training strategies and the development of human resources. This collaboration aims particularly to benefit students from the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology. The principal objective is to cultivate graduates holding international qualifications who possess both competence and practical experience, enabling them to meet the rigorous entry standards of relevant organisations or projects.
During the event, Mr. Lê Văn Nghi, Chairman and General Director of Q.I.S Co., Ltd, expressed his appreciation for the potential synergies between the two institutions in the manufacture and application of the university’s scientific products. He stated, “Q.I.S Co., Ltd eagerly anticipates the support from the university in training and supplying highly specialised personnel, which will facilitate our effective expansion from the domestic to international markets. This partnership presents an excellent opportunity to develop the desired human resources for professions related to non-destructive testing.”
Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Tuấn Khải, Director of the Department of Radiation and Nuclear Safety, reflected on the significance of the signing ceremony, stating, “This collaboration is mutually beneficial, engaging both Q.I.S Co., Ltd and VNUHCM-University of Science across various fields related to scientific research and innovation. It aims to provide new, practical solutions to current scientific challenges and contributes to national development.” Assoc. Prof. Khải also conveyed the Ministry of Science and Technology’s support for this collaboration.
In closing, Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President of VNUHCM-University of Science, on behalf of the university’s administration, assured comprehensive cooperation with Q.I.S Co., Ltd to maximise the benefits for both parties involved.
