SIGNING CEREMONY OF MOU WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF QUÉBEC À TROIS-RIVIÈRES, CANADA

On the morning of 10 March, at the Nguyễn Văn Cừ campus in District 5, a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in various areas took place between the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City – University of Science and the University of Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada (UQTR).

In attendance were Mr Sylvain Benoit, Director of the International Relations Department of UQTR; Assoc. Prof. Trần Minh Triết, Vice President of the VNUHCM-University of Science; Assoc. Prof. Ngô Đại Nghiệp, Head of the External Relations Department; Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Văn Vũ, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; and Dr. Phạm Nguyễn Cương, Head of the Information Systems Department.

Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Trois-Rivières, UQTR is part of the University of Québec system and offers 350 study programmes at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels across various fields, including Arts, Media, Education, Environment, Management, Natural Sciences, and Engineering. While instruction at UQTR is primarily in French, several graduate and postgraduate programmes are available in English.

Mr Sylvain Benoit from the University of Québec à Trois-Rivières stated: “I understand that the University of Science offers majors in French, which is a significant advantage for students participating in international exchange programmes at our institution.”

During the signing ceremony, the VNUHCM-University of Science, and UQTR agreed upon mutual objectives for cooperation and development across several domains, including:

– Joint collaboration in educational and research activities;
– Partnership in the development of software technology for scientific research purposes;
– Supporting each other in proposing research initiatives or projects of mutual interest;
– Facilitating access to each party’s information and resources for visitors;
– Exploring other forms of collaboration where both institutions can work together.
