The Faculty of Information Technology and the Software Engineering Laboratory at VNUHCM-University of Science presented three scientific papers at the 2024 ACM CHI Conference (Late Breaking Work), which took place from 11 to 16 May 2024, in Hawaii, USA.
The ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the premier international conference on Human-Computer Interaction, having commenced in 1982 and continuing to this day. The conference received over 4,000 submissions from more than 80 countries and regions. The theme for this year’s conference was “Surfing the World,” reflecting the focus on advancing cutting-edge technology and embracing new developments in human-computer interaction.
- ARtVista: Gateway to Empowering Anyone into Artists – This solution combined generative artificial intelligence and augmented reality, enabling anyone to create paintings.
- iCONTRA: Towards Thematic Collection Design via Interactive Concept Transfer – This solution utilised generative artificial intelligence to facilitate the design of collections based on any chosen theme.
- XRPublicSpectator: Towards Public Mixed Reality Viewing in Collocated Asymmetric Groups – This solution allowed individuals without mixed reality glasses to experience mixed reality environments alongside those equipped with specialised devices.
These three projects focus on the latest technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and mixed reality.
The articles highlighted above have showcased encouraging initial results in the ongoing development of the research direction on Human-Computer Interaction at VNUHCM-University of Science. This represents a step-by-step progression towards integrating with the international research community in this field.
