The meeting between HCMUS and Advance VN Energy marked the initial step towards cooperation in training, research, and recruitment in the geology–energy sector.
On the afternoon of 31 July, VNUHCM-University of Science held a working session with Advance VN Energy – an enterprise operating in the field of energy and sustainable resource exploitation – to promote collaboration in training, applied research, and recruitment connections for graduates and students in the fields of geology and energy.

Representing the University were Assoc. Prof. Phạm Trung Hiếu – Dean of the Faculty of Geology; MSc. Nguyễn Thùy Dung – Vice Dean; together with heads of departments and lecturers from the Faculty. Advance VN Energy was represented by Mr Robert Maxwell – General Director – and Ms Vy Nguyen – Executive Assistant.

During the meeting, Dr Phạm Thanh Thùy presented an overview of the University and the Faculty of Geology, highlighting strengths in training, orientations for human resource development, and key research areas such as natural resources, environment, marine geology, and energy. Representatives of the company also shared information on Advance VN Energy, including development strategies, strategic fields, and cooperation needs in training, applied research, and recruitment of technical and specialist personnel.

Discussions between the two sides focused on potential areas of collaboration: contributing to the development of training programmes; jointly organising specialised seminars; receiving students for internships; and expanding career opportunities for final-year students and alumni of the Faculty of Geology. At the conclusion of the programme, representatives of Advance VN Energy received job applications and spoke directly with several students from the Faculty.

The working session served as a positive starting point for building a long-term partnership between the University and the enterprise, aiming to enhance the quality of training in line with practical needs, while creating more career opportunities in geology, energy, and environmental sectors in the context of the green transition and sustainable development.
