The Faculty of Biology — Biotechnology and the Faculty of Chemistry at VNUHCM-University of Science participated in ASIIN accreditation at the undergraduate level (B.Sc.) at the Nguyen Van Cu campus in District 5. The majors that underwent accreditation were the B.Sc. in Biology, B.Sc. in Biotechnology, B.Sc. in Chemistry, and B.Sc. in Chemical Technology.

ASIIN, which stands for the Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics, is a highly regarded accreditation organisation that is a member of all major international registers and quality assurance associations. They are authorised to conduct accreditation procedures for programmes and institutions in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, mathematics and statistics, computer science and information technology, scientific education, and educator training in Viet Nam.

The assessment took place from 24 to 25 April 2024.
