On 30 October, a significant meeting took place at the Nguyen Van Cu campus of VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS), marking an important step in cooperation with the College of Natural Sciences, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Representing the College of Natural Sciences KAIST were Professor Sijong Kwak, the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences, along with heads and managers of the Departments of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
From HCMUS, Associate Professor Trần Lê Quan, the President, attended alongside leading representatives from the Office of External Relations and faculties such as Mathematics – Computer Science, Physics – Engineering Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science and Technology. The presence of experienced faculty lecturers and personnel fostered a lively and constructive discussion.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on various aspects of cooperation, focusing on introducing postgraduate programmes and the admissions processes at KAIST for international students, particularly those from HCMUS. Additionally, discussions revolved around the potential for collaboration on joint projects in education and research, emphasising the importance of such activities in enhancing the quality of training and research.
The attending departments and faculties engaged in extensive discussions regarding the possibilities for cooperation across their respective specialisations, aiming to develop interdisciplinary research programmes and share academic resources and valuable experiences.
This meeting not only reinforced the cooperative relationship between HCMUS and KAIST but also contributed to improving the quality of teaching and scientific research in both Viet Nam and South Korea.
