On January 14^th, the First Earth Science Festival with the theme “Discovering the Secrets of the Earth and the Universe” was held at Thoai Ngoc Hau High School for the Gifted, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province.

 

 

This is a significant event that is being organized by the Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics and the Faculty of Geology at the VNUHCM-University of Science in collaboration with Thoai Ngoc Hau High School for the Gifted. The event aims to provide an opportunity for students who are passionate about science and discovery to gain knowledge and engage in fun activities.

 

 

During the festival, students had a chance to engage in outdoor activities related to physics, astronomy, and geology, such as using telescopes to observe distant objects, assembling them, modelling the solar system, using a Michelson interferometer, learning about gemstones and observing them under a microscope. Additionally, the students also learned about various topics, including “Telescope – When eyes are not enough,” “Black holes,” and “Geology.”
