On 30 May, the VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) and SAKATA INX Corporation (Japan) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to launch a collaborative Internship Programme. This initiative marks a significant advancement in the strategy to internationalise education and strengthen human resource development at HCMUS.

The event symbolises a meaningful partnership between the university and a globally recognised enterprise, focusing on training, internships, and recruitment with the shared goal of preparing graduates for global careers.

SAKATA INX, a leading Japanese corporation in the industrial printing ink sector, brings more than 125 years of expertise to the collaboration. The subsidiary, SAKATA INX Viet Nam (SIV), has operated since 2003, supplying products to a wide range of industries across Viet Nam and neighbouring regions. In addition to advancing technology, the corporation maintains a strong focus on social responsibility, emphasising partnerships with academic institutions to cultivate young talent. Initiatives include internships and graduate recruitment programmes with top universities in Viet Nam.

Under the Agreement, students from HCMUS will be offered internship placements in Japan. Outcomes of these internships will serve as a reference for post-graduation recruitment. During the programme, students will receive specialised training and hands-on experience designed to align with the professional standards of the industry. The University will be responsible for nominating candidates who demonstrate strong technical capabilities, professionalism, and ethical standards, in accordance with corporate expectations.

Assoc. Prof. Trần Lê Quan, President of HCMUS, stated that this cooperation represents a strategic step in providing students with direct exposure to an international work environment—essential for developing a workforce with both strong academic foundations and global readiness.
